Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Every year, Grandma H. puts on an Easter egg hunt.  She hides lots of eggs, candy and even eggs with money.  So a few funny things happened to Mia.  First, the little kids go first.  They didn’t quite get it.  Mia goes running out on the deck.  We tell her to look for eggs.  So she did.  Right next to an egg.  We were laughing so hard.  Here she is looking for her eggs.

Is that cute or what?  It is like 3 inches from her hand.  ha ha

They quit the hunt to just eat.  Yum yum

This is funny.  It looks like cassie is hunting for eggs by the porta potties.  I guess I should have checked the background before I took this shot. Sorry Cassie.

An egg went down a gofer hole.  Thomas was obsessed with trying to get it.

Becca was sweet and even tried to get it with her long spidery arms (after she freaked out about sticking her arm down a dirty scary hole), that didn’t work either.

Here is a funny story for the day.  After the egg hunt, Mia was getting candy from her bag and she told grandma her hand was sticky.  Grandma checked and Mia had an uncooked egg broken in her bag.  This picture is her candy.  We had to wash it off so we could save her money eggs.  Don’t worry, we threw the candy out.  The egg looked like it had crayon on it.  Grandma wondered if it was a duck egg (they have ducks laying eggs in their front yard btw) and the stuff that looked like crayon was just from the candy.   So, a few mins. later, Thomas over heard us talking about it.  Turns out, he had snuck an egg, colored on it and secretively brought it over.  He hid it during the egg hunt then told Becca to look for the white egg.  He wanted her to get it.  Unfortunately, his trick didn’t work out, since Mia is the one who found it.  We all got a good laugh at that and are scheming to get him back.

John’s new kitchen creations are these masterpieces.  Cake Pops. They are soooooooo super tasty.  I love them. They take forever to make, but dang they are good.  Thanks for the great treat.
