John and I went to Mexico with my parents. We had way too much fun. It was heaven to not have to share my food or change diapers. (The sharing food was the thing I was most excited for. Everytime I get myself something to eat, a have a handful of little mouths wanting some). It was a very fancy, adult only resort. Grandma Hunt and Faith took care of our younguns. And Kim took the foster kids for me. Since I have 9 kids, it was a pretty big shock to just be responsible for myself. I think I could get used to that. It was so nice to be spoiled. Here are a few pictures. I took hundreds so I am just posting some.
Teaching the old man spider solitare.
This crazy old man was wandering around looking for a plug to charge his laptop with. They are hard to come by in the airport.
We had bought a straight flight to cancun, but delta changed it on us so we had to leave at midnight and go to atlanta. Then onto cancun so it was a super long night.
The line for customs was gynormous.
We got to the resort and were handed wet cloths and drinks. Wow, that was the life. (FYI - all drinks were seine alcohol. (or without) well, most at least.)
This was waiting for our couples massage on the beach. fabulous!!! It was Johns first. not his favorite thing to do.
Playing giant checkers
A close up of my parents 2 buildings down.
Ahhhhhh, relaxing away.
I can't begin to tell you how many drinks we had. My stomach hurts just thinking about it. but oh,they were good.
We got pretty silly one night when we went to a few restaurants. Vida had a fablous mousse called a chocolate cloud. So we had to go there. I am sure everyone thought we were drunk. We had the giggles so bad. But oh it was worth it.
That is a table deco, not stuff coming out of her mouth.
I was so full I thought I would explode.
Fun on the kayaks.
More silliness. I am not sure where the picture went, but we ate in a asian restaurant in a little room, just like in the movies. That was fun.
John and I slept outside one night. We were on this top bunk. It was really nice.
Yeah, we were pretty hot and greasy, even at night. This is us on our outside bed.
We wanted to see the sun come up over the ocean, but it didn't. So after this, we went in, called room service for 9:30 and went back to bed. What a life.
We loved to feed the fish. They would swarm you and you could touch them.
This is an amazing time. John had no idea how many days until BYU football. I have never seen him like this. We need to vacation more often.
Another really yummy desert. A marshmellowy cake. The food was so fancy.
Just chillaxin.
I rode a bull. yeah me.
John actually won. He stayed on for 56 seconds. What a stud.
This is him with his winning t-shirt. It was fun that a father of 6 won over everyone else.
Then we watched some cool firedancers and we did the macarana and limbo, however I quit during the limbo. I have had way to many kids and no muscle left.
Beautiful
I was snorkleing close to shore when I saw a group of fish. I was watching them and looked and there was a baracuda looking back at me, big teeth and all. I screamed and was yelling big fish in my mouth piece and some people from the uk were laughing and telling me to take it out so they could hear me. It turns out, they had been watching him for a while. I was telling John to come over. He thought I said lots of fish so he swam right up on the baracuda also. Then he was yelling. It was pretty cool, a little scary but a neat experience.
Ahhhhh, this makes me have beach fever.
One excursion was super neat. We made myan pottery. This man has been trying to bring traditions back to the myans and to have them be proud of their culture. I made a bowl. John made a tray.
He was working very hard at it.
We toured ruins of Coba. It was super fun.
We were on top of a structure they would play their ball game on.
We were being bicycled by a man in a rickshaw type thing. That was also fun. Never done that before.
We climbed to the top of one of the buildings. It was so beautiful and green.
Yes, I was a hot, greasy mess. This is at the top.
And then we had to go down.
This is what we climbed. It was so freaking hot.
Then we watched a show about their ball game put on just for us and 1 other couple that did the tour with us. It was really neat. It was in the bottom of a sinote. There were bats and a monkey. Also really scary stairs to get to the bottom. It was a fantastic experience. None of my pictures turned out really good since I couldn't use flash all the time.
This is the other couple from Texas that went with us.
Then the kids that did the play hopped on the back of our bus and we took them to town. I love traveling and having different experiences.
Fun in the sun.
John and dad played sand volleyball with an entertainment guy and a man from england. Dad still had it going on.
John held his own.
Dad did a couple of headers in the sand and ripped up his knees. This is Maui the life guard who took care of him. I don't know if i put in the picture of johns toe. he managed to get coral in his toe, so I used Mauis tools to get it out. Then Maui had to clean up all the blood. Mom also tripped as we were leaving xel-ha and scratched her knees but there was no Maui there to take care of her, boo hoo.
That is not water, it is just sweat.
John wasn't the only sweaty one.
Mom and I did water aerobics. It wasn't totally fun, but it was okay.
Note to self: never play water volleyball with a bunch of drunk dudes. They ruin it.
Nice one, John
Fun swings by the bar. oh, the wonderful bar. my little friend.
Mom has her margarita and chips and salsa. She is in heaven.
a swim up bar, my other little friend.
Since I didn't have any kids to take pictures of, I took pictures of flowers. They are so beautiful.
Gotta love a good hammok
John was dying to take a coconut home, but we didn't think immigration would like that.
Long story, Dad ate fish skin. 'nuff said.
That is a lizard on the wall of the restaurant. love the wild life there.
This is our last dinner, john didn't want dessert, I know, he is crazy. He ran ahead to go pretend gamble.
and we are home. bitter sweet.
This is hard to blog about because there are so many stories. We had a fantastic time and we're greatful to all who helped with out kids. I can't wait to go back. If anyone wants to go, I can hook you up!!!!
Here is a slide show of more pictures. I didn't get the chance to give each picture a caption, but oh well. I am still a good person. If you care to look at them, go ahead. If not, no hard feelings.

yes, yes of course! Wow look at you and your crew. Amazing! Six kids.. you go girl! How fun. It was great seeing you and John. So where are you these days???
This looks like such an amazing trip! I loved that you can sleep on the beach...on a bed, no less! Love the barracuda story and I really want to hike to the top of one of those pyramids! I've got to show these vacation pics to Kevin, he will love it, too. I'm glad you had a great time. Was this at a Sandals resort? I know they don't allow kids and the drinks are all inclusive.
WOW!!! It looks like you guys had an amazing time. I would be lying if I didn't tell you I was simply dripping with envy.
You guys are so lucky to have such a great family to both go with you and take care of the kids. It's simply wonderful!
