Yeah for adoption day

Well, it is official.  We are parents of 9 kids.  Crazy talk, I know.  We had a great adoption day.

The judge was great, he let us skype my parents in Latvia.  It was sweet of my mother-in-law to sit in the corner of the court room holding up her ipad.  I think I sounded pretty stupid when I was asked how I bonded with the kids. My head went blank.  Everything I had planned on saying shot right out of my lovely newly haircutted head.  Here are some photos afterwards.

I love the judge and Mia in this one.

Faith was taking photos and told us all to raise the roof, the judge was the only one to do it.  Apparently the "we are already a spectical" speech in the bus on the way down into the underground parking worked.  Ha ha.

Here is the crowd that was there.  Except for Kim.  She was taking pictures, dang it.

This is our lawyer.  (he even has a fancy lawyer purse.  A man bag, like Jack Bower. Awesome)

Here is our new additions with our case worker. Love her.

And last but not least, Our new family.  We are complete.

After the adoption, we headed for Olive Garden.  I love me some olive garden.

"We are now Hunt boys.  How cool are we?"

For some reason, things just seem harder for us.  Nothing is ever easy.  So we got a call from the lawyer today and the courthouse clerk didn't fill out our papers.  So we can't get the birth certificates.  Uggggg.  At least the lawyer is nice to us and he is fixing it and is going to send us the new papers.  That just means that I get to procrastinate on finishing up, so keep reminding me, okay?  Thanks.

That night, we had an ice cream party.  We invited everyone I remembered too. (sorry if I forgot you)  Unfortunately, there wasn't another one of me to take photos.  I got busy talking and didn't even realize that I didn't even pick up my camera.  I thought people were crazy when they said that, but look, it happened to me.  I forgot to take photos.  What is this world coming to.   Anyway, back on topic.  The moral of the story is we had a great adoption day.  Thank you everyone for helping to make it so wonderful.

Thanks for skyping and letting us be a part of the adoption. At that moment, Latvia didn't seem quite so far away. :)
Love all the pictures!

What a beautiful family Melissa! So happy for you I wish we could have been there to enjoy the moment with you. Adoption is just a little piece of heaven on earth. And if anyone gives you greif about nine kids just kick them and tell them "JaNan said I could" ;O)
