So, I have had my hands full lately. A good kind of full. With these little guys and a 2 year old and my sisters came and nieces. If I get to blogging those photos, that will be a miracle. But, I do have a few mins. to blog about a vacation.
I am not going to blog a ton of pictures so I guess you will just have to come over and check out my scrapbooks in 12 years when I finally get it done!!!
Here is Miss Temper tantrum at her best. We have been dealing a lot with this.
The temple is amazing.
I think it is a pretty awesome photo. No touch up done on this.
We did a crazy hard handcart trek. We didn’t know how hard it would be, but Nauvoo has had tons and tons of rain lately. Most of it while we were there!!! ha ha So we caught a glimpse of what it was like for the handcarts to go across Iowa when it was one big mud hole. It was so muddy. Like suck your shoe off, kids getting stuck muddy. Before we started, we went to walmart and got everyone a pair of shoes to wear and then throw away when we were done. Grandma and I got some very attractive (hint of sarcasm) boots. Turns out mine were water proof – score!! It was very hard but a great experience. Mia just rode and Jason walked it. Our carts were empty, minus Mia. Words can’t describe how much work that was. Our hearts were just pounding. Without going on and on, I have a deeper respect for the pioneers. What they went through, is just unbelievable.
Look, we are clean!!!
It was hard too keep shoes on. This was at a water break, We had to try and tie shoes on tighter.
This was not even super deep mud. I wonder how many soaks it is going to take to get the mud out of their clothes.
Now that is some mississippi mud.
Yes, Mia fell asleep on the edge of the handcart. Yes, it was a long couple of days.

My aunt and uncle are on their mission in Nauvoo and they just happened to be driving by when we were finishing up, so they were able to take these photos for us.

And yes, we had to clean up in the stream. It would be a river where I live, but when it is next to the Mississippi, this is just a creek.
Another cool thing we did, was find out where my ancestors lived.
This is James Pace’s property. He had a lot of property. It went down all this street and all to the right where it is now some residential housing. He was one of Joseph and Brighams police men and the city Payson is named after him.
This is Horace Rawsons property.
And these horses are on the property of Ebenezer Richardson. The interesting this is that these last 2 properties are neighbors and years and years later in the west, their kids got married. Cute, huh?
Oh yeah, we also went here.

That looks like loads of fun, even with all that mud!
Dad said if you would have been a pioneer with a digital camera you wouldn't have arrived in SLC until 1848! Loved the pictures! It was wonderful to see the property owned by our family. Wish we still owned it! :)
What a great vacation!!!!
Loved it...can't wait to see more. Dad's comment was very funny and very true!!!
I love the picture of Mia sleeping.
