Our family hit the West Fest 5 k this year. John ran it. He didn't prepare much, okay at all. He had wanted to train and run it with me last year but with his knee problems, he couldn't. So he planned on doing it this year. He didn't train really at all. But he ran it. I am really proud of him. I, unfortunately didn't get to go cheer him on. I was on my death bed. I got the cold that Becca and Cassie had. I was fevering and feeling pretty crappy. I spent 2 days in bed. So Becca was his cheerleader. The little hunnie was so sweet. Because she is a few months shy of being a teenager, she got up at 6:15 and showered so her bangs would look okay and she took the camera for me. We let the other kids and me sleep. We also finished it off with the other part of the tradition- donuts. Yeah. here are the photos Becca took.

For some reason, I love this picture of the road. I know, I am weird.
P.S. The non-competitive part of me tried to forget, but I know that numbers and his time are important to John, so here is his time: 37:25.3
The winner, same guy as last year, ran in in 16:49.6
The loser, not John, ran it in 56:56.9
John placed 229th out of 374.
Yeah, way to go Hunnie!!!!
