East Canyon (hike)

I really wanted to take the kids for a hike up a mountain. I borrowed a cool backpacker from Julie for Amelia and off we went. (thanks Julie) James wanted to stay and play suffleboard and tennis with John and the others, but Grandma went with me and the girls plus Jason. It was so beautiful up there.

Off we go. Hi Cassie;)

Amelia was strapped to my back. She loved it. She kept saying, "Ishy" for pretty. She was singing songs, it was so fun. Super hard getting her up and down the steep parts, but over all not that horrible. Super worth it.

The other part of the clan playing suffle board.

Beautiful flowers.

Some of the straight up parts.

Grandma was bringing up the rear.

Taking a rest. Annie had too much energy to rest.

Poor Jason hurt his finger. Thank heavens for band-aids.

This is the pee tree. Jason is thankful that he is a boy. (He made more than one stop)

I loved all the wild flowers.

We went as far as we were going to go and I took Mia off and she was not happy. She either wanted out or to keep going.

Cassie yelled that Jason had a spider on his head. I went to wack it and it wouldn't come off. It turned out to be a tick. We were really super glad she found it. (Cassie ended up bringing one home with her. She is now scared to death of woods.

Cute kids.

That is East Canyon behind them.

They made it down fast past the steep part. Us old foogies took a little longer.

Becca got this shot since it was so funny to watch us get down.

At the end of the trail, you could go down this part or an easier part. The little kids and I chose the easier way. B, C, and Grandma slid down on their boondas.

You guys are having fun Melissa! Loved all the pictures from the wedding, too! That cake was beautiful, I loved the flowers. Did JoLyn's mom do her bouqet also? Funny that you posted about shuffleboard also not being for old people because Kevin and I had fun with our friends playing that on a cruise ship once. It was getting way crazy if you can believe that. :)
Sorry about the tick incident also, those things are pretty creepy. Saydria recently had one in her ear and we had to get it out. I couldn't stop scratching my ears for a couple days.
